Who we are

We believe that every child should have access to books. In areas of book poverty the best way to do this is by building libraries in primary schools. We have a network of volunteers who source books locally from donations and from charity shops. We sort and index these and keep them in a storage facility ready for the next project.

Working with the school management team we manage the whole project. This includes;

  • decoration and artwork,

  • sourcing and building shelves and furniture,

  • setting up the system

  • recruiting and training librarians

  • launching the library

Our work doesn’t stop there. Once the library is running we help the management team and the librarians to optimise the use of the library. This includes;

  • Making sure we have the books children want to read

  • Storytime where we introduce the children to new authors

  • Running reports on library usage and incentives to get every child reading
